Transport to get from Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) to your destination

Transportation from Fuerteventura Airport includes options such as Car Hire, Taxi Transfers, and Bus Services. Fuerteventura does not have a train network.

The airport provides several transport links to most of the popular tourist destinations on the island.

Bus:  All buses stop in front of the Airport terminal on the ground floor, by the Airport Exit. (“Salidas” in Spanish)

Options for catching the bus from Fuerteventura Airport to Puerto del Rosario Port include Bus Route 3, Bus Route 10 and Bus Route 16.

Bus Route 3 leaves twice an hour on weekdays and slightly less often on weekends and public holidays. For Route 3, the estimated cost is around €1.80.

Bus Route 10 – If you plan to take Route 10, please note that it operates on different schedules depending on the day of the week. Specifically, it departs eight times on weekdays, six times on Saturdays, and just four times on Sundays. 

Bus Route 16 connects the Airport with Puerto del Rosario and Gran Tarajal. It’s important to note that this route has limited frequency, so it’s advisable to check the bus timetable on our bus page before planning your journey.

Taxi: If you’re planning to take a taxi from the airport, you’ll find the taxi rank located just outside the arrivals area, where you can easily hail a taxi to your desired location. The fares for taxis may vary depending on the distance of your destination, and it’s always a good idea to confirm the estimate before embarking on your journey.

Train: It is important to note that there is no train or subway service in Fuerteventura. However, visitors should not confuse this with the Corralejo Mini Fun Train, which was previouslylocated in Corralejo.

A: Three bus lines operate on the route from the airport to the capital city of Puerto del Rosario. These buses provide a convenient and affordable mode of transportation for travellers. In the event that you miss the bus, there are also taxis readily available outside the terminal building, offering another convenient option for reaching your destination.

Q: Do I need local currency to pay for a bus from the airport?

A: It is always wise to carry Euros to pay for buses etc. There are two cashpoints / ATM’s on the ground floor in the airport: Bankia in the Departures hall and EuroNet in the Arrivals hall, where you can exchange your currency to pay for buses or transfers later on.

Q: I am continuing my journey outside Puerto del Rosario. Are there any direct lines to other destinations?

A:  Getting from Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) to Puerto del Rosario Port is possible on foot, although this may not be suitable for everyone. Though the journey can be completed in just over an hour, it may not be the best choice if you have luggage or are travelling with children. While some local individuals and backpackers may regularly walk this route, others may prefer to choose other means of transportation.
